New
Levels Program
The
Womens National
Program has
been structured
with a long
term view of
providing all
gymnasts with
both a challenging
and attainable
system.All gymnasts
participating
in Level 1-3
will enter using
the National
Development
Program.This
has been designed
to cater for
a large variation
in potential,
providing the
gymnast/coach
with options
that are best
suited to their
ability. Each level has the choice of 3 routines. The routines may vary in difficulty and start
values ie; 8.5
least difficult,
9.00 intermediate
and 10.00 most
difficult.Gymnasts
will be entered
into divisions
based on their
start values,
giving gymnasts
and coaches
the option of
moving within
a level or upgrading
to the next
level.
MBC
Artistic Grading
Day 3rd
April
At
the end of each
term MBC Gymnastics
holds a formal
testing of all
WAG Levels gymnasts. These assessments are always conducted on the last Saturday of
each term.The gymnasts
and coaches
work towards
attaining certain
skill goals
throughout the
term. When the gymnast has achieved 90% of the
required skill
level they will
be given an
opportunity
to be upgraded. If gymnasts are successful in passing, Parents
will be notified
by mail.
This
is great opportunity
for all family
members to view
their daughters
development.
Please Note:When classes are operating
Parents and
family members
are not permitted
to enter the
training area.If you
wish to speak
to a coach this
must be done
before or after
the class.As of
term 2 all WAG
Recreational
& Level
1-3 gymnasts
must wait on
the seats in
the basketball
courts.Classes
will commence
and finish at
the seating. This will help to keep the congestion out
of the entrance
and not disturb
any classes
that are operating
at the time.

were selected
for Australia
to compete in
the end of year
International
Series conducted
at the Australian
Institute of
sport from the
5th
to 13th
of December
2003.
Following
rigorous selection
trials held
in the previous
week MBCs Junior
Internationals
Alyce Arrowsmith
and Chloe
Sims were
selected in
the six person
squad to represent
Australian at
the Junior International
competition,
The Canberra
Cup.Of note,
is the fact
that Alyce and
Chloe were the
only 2 Queenslanders
in the National
Team comprising
2 gymnasts from
WAIS and 2 gymnasts
from the AIS.
As
the youngest
members of the
Australian Team
at their first
International Competition, Chloe and Alyce
were justifiably
proud to be
selected to
represent Australia. However both were to contribute significantly
to Australias
Individual performances
against a strong
filed of Junior
Internationals
from China,
Japan, Canada,
and Wales.
Alyce
Arrowsmith became
Moreton Bay
Colleges first
home-grown student
in the 102 year
school history
to achieve an

amongst the
very best Gymnasts

Finally
just a few housekeeping
items:
All
parents must
fill out and
return their
membership form
to myself. We still have a number of gymnasts without
a membership
form, it would
be appreciated
if all forms
could be returned
no later than
week 2 of term
2.
It
is recommended
that all competition
squad members
(Level 4-10/Stages
1-4) be training
with their own
apparatus.The limited
MBC apparatus
has been provided
for use by Pre-school
and Level 1-3
gymnasts.
Each
gymnast should
have apparatus
suited to herself
personally and
not be using
a generic size
of apparatus.
For
Stage 1 and
2 gymnasts junior
apparatus is
able to be brought
and used. For Level 4-10 and Stage 3-4 senior apparatus
only is to be
used.
Each
gymnasts is
required to
have the following:Rope,
Hoop, Ball,
Clubs and Ribbon.
