2007 Australian National Championships

 

Over the Mid-Year holiday period, MBC Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnasts competed in their respective National Championships, with creditable results.

 

The MBC Women’s Artistic Gymnasts State Representatives competed in the WAG Australian National Championships hosted at Chandler, Queensland.

 

* Courtney HaleyLevel 7, competing at her first National Championships for Queensland earnt a Gold Medal in the Team event and placed 6th All Around.

 

* Natalie CruickshanksLevel 8, the Queensland Level 8 State Champion was the best performing Queenslander at 12th All Around, and led Queensland to the Bronze Medal in the Team Event.

 

* Tara Brady - Level 8, achieved a Bronze Medal in the Team Event and placed 20th All Around.

 

* Brianna Wong – International Level 6 – 6th All Around, Silver Medal – Beam & Vault

 

* Brittany Boffo – International Level 6 – 12th All Around in her first National event.

 

* Georgia-Rose Brown – International Level 8 – 4th All Around, Gold Medal – Beam & Floor.

 

* Shar-Lee Clark – International Level 8 – 15th All Around.

 

* Sherilyse Gowlett – International Level 8 – 16th All Around in her first National event.

 

* Talitha Boffo – International Level 8 – 19th All Around in her first National event.

The MBC Rhythmic State Representatives travelled to Adelaide with their MBC and State Coaches, Edith and Gina Peluso; achieving the following results;

 

* Tessa HorganLevel 7, competing at her first National Event, making the finals in the Ball Event.

 

* Mae McDonaldLevel 8, assisted Queensland to a Silver Medal in the Team Event.

 

* Barbara BelfordLevel 10, was a member of the Silver Medal Queensland Team, placing 4th in the All Around; and 4th in 3 Apparatus finals.

 

* Alexia TeixeiraStage 3, placed 12th All Around in her first National Event and assisted Queensland to the Silver Medal in the Team Event.

 

* Naazmi Johnston, our MBC Senior International and Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist performed consistently to place 2nd All Around and won the Silver Medal in all 4 Events (Ribbon, Ball, Hoop, Rope).
