MBC Gymnasts prepare for Olympic quest

MBC Rhythmic and Artistic gymnasts from our Centre of Excellence in Gymnastics are currently finalizing their respective programs on the road to Beijing 2008.

MBC Rhythmic International Naazmi Johnston, Queensland’s first Rhythmic Gymnastic Olympian, earned her Olympic birth via her outstanding performances at the 2007 World Championships (Greece – September 2007). Naazmi will travel with her International Coach, Mrs. Edith Peluso to Europe in May to enhance her Olympic preparation at two International tournaments (Bulgaria & France). Both events will allow Naazmi to hone her skills against some of the World’s best Rhythmic gymnasts.

MBC Artistic International Gymnasts, Chloe Sims (2006 Commonwealth Champion) and Larrissa Miller are currently preparing intensely for the first Women’s Artistic Olympic trials to be conducted at the Vodafone Arena, Melbourne in conjunction with the Australian Championships (May 22-25).

As part of her preparation, Chloe Sims and her International Master Coach, Mr. Sasha Belooussov will attend an Olympic Squad Camp in Canberra during the last week of April.

We wish all of our MBC prospective Olympians good competition and best of luck over the coming months.

Mr Peter Dowdell
Head of Gymnastics
